Poetry With A Mission

...a thought provoking poetical exercise.

Dead Dogs

No one kicks a dead dog, nor does Satan, who here, is more the concern, believe me,
For if he’s not bothering us, we’re not interesting him, undoubtedly.
He hardly wastes much time on those who’re snoozing, lukewarm, as he doesn’t need to,
For they pose little threat to him, even many of his attractions pursue.

No, Satan’s more interested in those who have no desire to compromise,
Those who’re seriously committed, faithful, and who with Scripture harmonize,
Those who point out his wickedness, his traps, his plans, and his global strategy,
In order to deprive him of victims, who could well forfeit eternity.

Yes, it’s these Christians that Satan’s after, and is it any wonder, dear friend,
For the God that he hates is the very God that they vigorously defend.
And their witness testifies of this God, uplifts Him, which irks Satan greatly,
Hence his attempts to discourage them via his attacks, evil skullduggery.

And hence why he doesn’t kick dead dogs, those who’re little threat, those who just warm pews,
For such, rather than interesting him, or angering him, simply amuse.
Such even aid and abet him, for they dilute, mix, dismantle and confuse,
Won’t heed watchmen on the wall — but rather, just flirt with the world, foolishly snooze.

Therefore, take heart, dear friend, if beset by troubles, despite walking faithfully,
For Satan doesn’t bother with dead dogs, snoozers, the lukewarm fraternity.
He knows that while they remain so, there’s every chance they’ll be lost eternally,
Unlike those he’s attacking, who, if they remain faithful, soon Jesus will see.

Yes, Satan’s only after the faithful, those who soldier on despite the cost,
For he knows that he’s simply wasting time bothering those who’re as good as lost,
They being, those who just like the foolish virgins, are slumbering dangerously,
Those unaware of their true condition, or who’ve a false sense of security.

Satan knows that the narrow way isn’t easy, that most fall by the wayside,
So, like the vulture he is, he skulks around, insures more pressure’s applied.
He waits to see who’ll drop their cross under increasing satanic artillery,
Hoping to add to his pile of kindling that’ll soon be torched apocalyptically.

Yes, take heart, dear friend, for if the devil is bothering you, that’s a good sign,
For Satan’s only interested in those branches still attached to the Vine.
It’s only those bearing fruit that incur his wrath and receive his attention,
And so it will be, consequently, ’til Christ’s second coming intervention.

Meantime, you’ll be maligned, misquoted, ridiculed, opposed, accused, mistreated,
Even by your own, not just Satan, who at Calvary was soundly defeated.
And you may even suffer to the point of death if you’re truly faithful to the Lord,
But hold fast, be faithful, for eternal life with Him will soon be your reward.

And ’midst these trials that beset, perplex and distress, He will be there beside you,
Empowering, uplifting, showering you with His love and care, guiding you through.
And sometimes even carrying you, for that’s grace, love, reason to hang in there,
A living witness, no dead dog or other, a victor, devout and sincere.

Our faith must be tested and character refined in the fires of adversity,
For it’s such that determines genuineness, the degree of our loyalty.
Heaven’s for the faithful, not dead dogs or other, for such are a mockery,
And would hardly be at home in Heaven given they’re halfhearted and worldly.

Such hardly interest Satan, but they do interest Christ though, for He cares,
Hence those wakeup calls, even judgments, in order to save them from Satan’s snares.
Yes, in order to rescue them, for love doesn’t even want dead dogs lost, but,
Should they not respond to His promptings, they’ll soon find that Heaven’s gates have shut.

2.  When Love Did What It Didn't Want To Do

Imagine a world without sin — a universe untouched by rebellion — no heartache and tears,
No treachery, injury, adversity, and no one troubled by anxieties and fears.
Oh, how wonderful such would be, and once was! — but along came sin in the form of Lucifer,
Who, given his position, talents and beauty, was seen to pridefully and foolishly err.

And hence when love did what it didn’t want to do, and that is, remove Lucifer from Heaven,
Who, now as Satan, is linked with that six, six, six, which Revelation shows is anti Heaven.
Yes, he Earthbound, though no doubt given opportunity to repent prior to his removal,
But as time has shown: From both him and the angels who joined him, there came that tragic refusal.

And now, Satan clearly can’t turn back, any probation period ended, he evil as,
His doom inevitable, for as far as committing the unpardonable sin goes, he has.
And yes, all his cohorts too, they as dammed as he, for love couldn’t and can’t let sin continue,
Be that in Heaven, (as in Satan’s case), or on Earth, (as in our case), if the same we pursue.

Hence why those who willingly continue to sin will join Satan and his angels in their doom,
For were Jesus to take such violators to Heaven, sin-cum-evil would once again bloom.
Hence why we must become new creatures in Christ now, our old ways behind us, we Spirit empowered,
Lest, just like when love did what it didn’t want to do, we be removed too, but this time, devoured.

Yes, few want to know about God’s wrath — even Christians — but hey, logic shouts that such has its place,
Though Christ taking no pleasure in the destruction of the wicked, or abusers of His grace.
But such simply being what love must finally do when sin has run its course and Satan’s plan is seen,
That being, the ensnarement of all globally — yes, his ambitions exposed, come Earth’s final scene.

And then — all within the universe who’re watching — will once and for all see and know sin’s true face,
And never for a moment doubt Christ — the evidence of His genuineness: Calvary’s grace.
And He even delaying His coming that more may return to Heaven with Him one soon day,
For He would rather no one perish, but leaves us to choose, and why such we should carefully weigh.

Hence why long ago it was predetermined that those who embraced Christ and His will would be saved,
And that those who rejected Him, (or abused His grace), would be lost, they still rebelling-cum-enslaved,
And thus via their folly-cum-choosing, salvation losing, God not interfering with free choice,
For such is not His way, and thus only over willing, committed followers can rejoice.

And so, post the destruction of the lost, all in the universe will remember that sad day,
When love did what it didn’t want to do, but had no choice, for love all the pros and cons must weigh.
And tell me, who would want to see sin mar things again, and spoil that joy of being in Paradise?
All being good reason for embracing Christ and His will, He having paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Think about it, Lucifer full of egotistical pride, and Christ, humble and forgiving,
His creatorship and His death on Golgotha being the only reason why we’re all living.
He no doubt bearing long with Lucifer as He does with us, and He, pointing to Calvary,
Which despite our unworthiness, (we sinners by nature), holds out hope of eternity.

Yes, that despicable cross that we’ve all had a hand in, Jesus dying so that we might live,
And thus why when it comes to Satan, (he hateful and revengeful), not one single foothold we should give.
For look at those differences between him and Christ, he once so honoured and yet wanting more,
And Christ, the innocent and deserving one, who all our sins and penalty willingly bore.

How clearer do we want it? — and the results of sin just as clear, and surely the answer too,
We surrendering our all to Christ, remembering when love did what it didn’t want to do.
For this love that I speak of neither introduced nor desired the evil that it will soon end,
Nor failed to warn of the consequences of rebellion, for sinning’s something Christ can’t defend.

Oh, how hard it must be for our Saviour to destroy, and especially those He created,
But here, love must do what it dearly doesn’t want to do, for sin, such has necessitated.
And yes, it so reminiscent of that time when love had to do what it didn’t want to do,
But hallelujah! — for this will be the last and final time, Christ’s coming and Heaven in view.

"Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law" (Rom 3:31, ESV).

“For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth [right and wrong],
there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins [Christ's grace is made void],
but a fearful expectation of judgment…” (Heb 10:26,27, ESV).

3.  "On Yer Bike!"

When the devil grabs a hold of your ear, and says, “Looky here, I’ve something really good for you,”
Just tell him to take a hike, or holler, “On yer bike!” and the opposite to what he said do.
Yes, I wouldn’t listen to his lies, for oh, how he tries, and why you’ve got to tell him clearly,
For should you give him half a mo, some trouble you’re bound to know, and chances are, you’ll pay dearly.

So, I wouldn’t give him the time of day, for should he get his way, he’ll gloat over his success,
While you’re left to carry the cost, having let yourself be bossed, and he ain’t cleaning up the mess.
But rather, and this, midst your lather, will be rubbing your nose in it, he chortling to his mates,
And hence why you shouldn’t succumb, nor even give him a crumb, but just ignore him, which he hates.

Tell him you’ve a powerful Friend, and by the way, that you know his sorry end — it coming soon,
And that you’ve chosen a happier end, eternity with your Friend, with whom you’ve more in tune.
And though he won’t give up, and will still pass his poisoned cup, just tell him to take his brew away,
For anything of his, no matter its pop and fizz, will have you out for the rest of the day.

Better you call on your Friend, with whom eternity you’ll spend, He able to help with your foe,
For despite your best intentions, you’re up against devilish inventions, and Satan a pro.
But with your trust in the Lord, having taken His promises on board, victory can be yours,
So long as you don’t forget, that while Satan’s a threat, you must close any open windows or doors.

4.  Gone!

“Come in,” he said, “No need to close the door behind you,” and like a fool, I did as he bade me,
He motioning to a chair designed to fit, doing what he could to make me feel less guilty.
However, I still had an uneasy feeling, and he, looking at me rather knowingly;
His office, (or lair), luxuriously appointed, his success apparent — and his manner?
Well, clearly practiced, and, “At all cost!” was boldly staring out from an unfurled blood-red banner.

“You’ve nothing to fear,” he said, “Many having been in that same chair, and each one nurtured by me,
For I take a personal interest in all who walk through that door, and more I’d like to see.”
Though such was designed to put one at ease, I found it somewhat unsettling, and more so his gaze,
It almost piercing, and I feeling as if I’d been invaded, his passion as if ablaze.

“Yes,” he said, to clearly emphasize his point, “I’m so eager to take more folk under my wing,
So you’re welcome to being others with you, and tell them not to be concerned about anything.
And hey, whatever folk desire, I seek to fulfil, I not here to moralize or judge them,
Which is why when it comes to whatever they read, watch and do, there’s not a thing that I condemn.”

Those last words troubled me, for they didn’t seem to gel with wisdom and logic, and nor God’s Word,
The latter pricking my conscience, for wasn’t I straying, and did God say, “Just do what’s preferred?”
No, quite the opposite, and I now getting cold feet, which those piercing eyes seemed to pick up on,
The devil rising to his feet as if to close the door, and I, just in the nick of time, gone!

5.  Don't Get Burnt

Hi there. Welcome to my playground. Please come on in….come on....it’s great fun.
Come on….don’t be concerned now, for none of those rumours are true — not one!
But you will hardly know that will you, until you give my things a try,
So, come on in — find out for yourself — and experience a real high.

Great! That’s the way. I knew that you would. You’re smart. Real smart, and good on you,
For you’ll soon see that those rumours are simply just rumours — far from true.
Yes, you’ll have the time of your life, and soon forget all that they have said,
And that is because you are brighter, much more savvy — yes, streets ahead.

Here now, let me show you around, and I will get you familiarized,
Which will happen very quickly, and even before you have realized.
Yes, you'll soon become so accustomed to the sights and sounds that you’ll see,
That you will hardly want to leave here, and actually will aid me.

There is so much that is tempting, and there is something for everyone,
Because I am a full-time people pleaser, when all is said and done.
I just give them what they are wanting, and soon they’re coming back for more,
Hence why most don’t want to leave here, which, excuse me boasting, I foresaw.

Oh yes, my playground is much more fun, because I do not withhold things,
No, people can do what they like, there aren't any rules here, and no strings.
Thus, they’re as happy as a flea in a sand-pit, and are so engrossed,
In fact, so much so, that if a fire broke out, everybody would roast.

6.  Be Careful, Very Careful

Satan always surrounds those who stray with those who say what people want to hear,
Those who thereby become supporters of the erring who oft discontent share.
Yes, go contrary to God’s will via worldly ways, baubles, bangles and beads, say,
And you’ll find plenty who’ll compliment your sins, even Christians who’ll help you stray.

“My, you look gorgeous,” they say, even pop in those worldly words hot and sexy,
Or clothes aside, will praise the cosmetic or some attention getting booty.
And hence how the straying stray further, their admirers cementing such folly,
And why God is seen weeping over that playboy image or made up dolly.

So please be careful, very careful, for Satan will convince you that you’re right,
And thus you embracing a darkness that leads one further from God’s Holy light.
Yes, supporters coming out of the woodwork, those who will compliment your taste,
Taste that has exchanged the pure for the likes of low tops, high skirts, trinkets and paste.

Or could it be a Rolex watch, a body that’s bulging with vain muscles, or,
Some greasy titivated hair style that has come out of some Hollywood drawer?
Well, whatever it is, if it’s not of God it will be endorsed by you know who,
A devil whose vanity and self focus dams those who seek the same path too.

7.  Sweet And Easy

If our life is sweet and easy, chances are, we’ve hardly riled our enemy,
Hardly taken up our cross, and thus have hardly surrendered to Christ fully.
And hence why there’s little to bother Satan, he quite happy to let us be,
For there’s every chance that almost unnoticed, we’ll lose our grip on eternity.

Oh, how so many fail to see that God desires commitment and loyalty,
He testing us amidst opposition, persecution and adversity.
Yes, He wanting to know how much we love Him, how much we wish to seek His will;
In other words, whether we’ll stick with Him through thick or thin, happy times or ill.

And fair enough too, for He’s every right given that He created us all,
And that He also sought to rescue us, all who respond to His gracious call,
And by that I mean, totally so, they truly repentant-cum-genuine,
And thus drawing Satan’s wrath, their clear and true witness getting under his skin.

What God’s wanting us to realise as soon as possible is, that this Earth’s ending,
He not wanting us to put our roots down here, our cherished things oft offending,
For, “Take up your cross,” He said, and then, “He who seeks to save His life will lose it,”
He knowing loyalty oft demands sacrifice-cum-loss, hardship and true grit.

Hence why the devil oft lulls with the sweet and easy life, it thus no blessing,
But rather, more a curse — and as to whether we’re even Christians, folk guessing.
And that, too often the case, sadly, our Christian walk more like a crawl, and we
And at that point, hardly amongst the saved, for God hates such mediocrity.

But not Satan, he hardly wanting us awake, on fire, nor true to the mark,
Hence his allurements, he leading folk away from what’s right, and not for a lark.
Oh no, his intentions deadly, he snatching many from the grip of the Son,
And that paradise to come where there’s no winter, no darkness, but constant sun.

But with their permission though, conscious or unconscious, and there’s the tragedy,
And all because of their missing cross, the tough exchanged for the sweet and easy.
Such why Satan laughs, his laughter having rung through the ages, filling pages,
For behind the comfortable, all those so-called blessings, a battle rages.

" 'I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are luke warm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of My mouth' " (Rev 3:15,16, NKJV).

“ ‘For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for My sake will find it’ ” (Matt 16:25, NKJV).

8.  Satan's Throne

Yes, where might the devil’s throne be? Well, no doubt where there’s rebellion and blasphemy;
In other words, where there’s unlawfulness, a certain pomp, pride and ceremony.
Or to put it another way, where someone might think to act as if they’re God, and
Midst interfering with what’s His, seeking to control the lives of all in each land.

“And the whole world followed after the beast,” the Scriptures state, warning of such a one,
And thus effectively of Satan who’s always been jealous of Christ the Son.
Such why Satan’s been very busy here on Earth, stealthily installing his throne,
Upon which his appointed one will sit, a beguiling face with a heart of stone.

So where might Satan’s throne be, and that appointed one who would hardly rule alone,
Surrounded by willing knaves, and all who would be forced to worship at such a throne?
A cruel throne that's not only surrounded by the conned and self-serving, but also
Wealth, power, self glory and that pomp and ceremony that’s nothing more than a show.

Yes, enter meek Jesus on a donkey, but not this one of might and clever spiel,
Who, aided by lying signs and wonders, the hearts and minds of all will seek to steal.
And as for those who aren’t fooled, and who remain faithful to the Bible and their Lord,
Satan will seek to annihilate them, for he hates any who won’t get on board.

Well, God is mightier than Satan whose throne and appointed one will be destroyed,
When at our Saviour’s return to Earth, the wrath of Divine justice will be employed.
For Christ has no time for such force, and hence why He has borne long with humanity,
And warned us regarding Satan’s throne from which is heard heresy and blasphemy.

Yes, a great deal of time has passed since Christianity’s humble beginnings, where
Simplicity and truth shunned error, popularity, ambition and fanfare.
And where dusty paths and starlit skies were the lot of the apostles and their Lord,
Who never spoke of earthly thrones, pomp and ceremony, nor unholy applaud.

Except, of course, where speaking of evil and corruption, and false religion too,
Such being the home of that throne where Satan seeks the worship that only Christ is due.
Hence Satan's Trojan horse, that something that looks the part — well, to those who’re so misled,
And who, rather than the plain Word of God — prophetic truth — choose what suits them instead.

By Lance Landall

Let no one in any way deceive you, for it [Christ's coming] will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed [the God opposing power], the son of destruction [e.g, Rev 20:10; 13:11-18], who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God. (2 Thess, 2:3,4, NASB).

“The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved” (2 Thess 2:9,10, NIV).

“Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon” (Rev 13:11, NKJV). Best you read the whole chapter.

“A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: “If anyone worships the beast and his image [the End-time worldwide power] and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, he, too, will drink of the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of His wrath..." This calls for patient endurance on the part of the saints who obey God’s commandments and remain faithful to Jesus. Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, ‘they will rest from their labour, for their deeds will follow them’ ” (Rev 14:9,10,12,13, NIV).

9.  Dear Seeker Of Truth

Dear seeker of truth,

A warning, for how committed are you? — as Satan may test such sorely,
Be that via frustrations, distractions, diversions, and even adversity.
Yes, he never happy about us seeking truth, and why he tries to hide it,
Or doctor it, he knowing truth always proving to be to our benefit.

But truth not benefiting him — the father of lies — for truth exposes such,
And as a consequence, prevents us falling for his falsehood-cum-evil clutch.
Well, hopefully, as so much comes down to you and I, our determination,
And how awake we are, as one’s search for truth also requires concentration.

And more so come the devil’s aggravation, he hoping to discourage such folk,
Which, sad to say, too often happens, someone’s efforts thus going up in smoke.
Hence why Satan loves to stir up opposition, our search oft treading on toes,
For the folly of others, and what doesn’t suit some, one’s questioning oft shows.

Yes, truth isn’t as popular these days, and thus not as visible to one,
And hence why we’re hearing so much error-cum-heresy being cleverly spun.
Such making things harder for the seeker of truth, who on the Spirit should call,
For without the Spirit’s guidance, it’s a given that for Satan’s lies they'll fall.

At the end of the day, truth gets in Satan’s way, and reveals that he’s a fraud,
A nasty enemy who doesn’t want anyone truly knowing the Lord,
Nor anyone finding God, discovering His truths and walking in His ways
Which are true, right, and also beneficial-cum-the lengthener of our days.

So press on, dear seeker of truth.

By Lance Landall

"The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signes and wonders, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness" (2 Thess 2:9-12, NIV).

"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth" (Rom 1:18, ESV).

"For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and willl turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths" (2 Tim 4:3,4, ESV).

"Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness" (Eph 6:14, ESV).

"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me' " (John 14:6, ESV).

" 'You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies' " (John 8:44, NIV).

" 'For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect' " (Matt 24:24, ESV).

10.  Who's Counting Three?

The truth is, that things don’t just happen in threes, but less or more, and bear in mind
That where there’s superstition, a meddling and deceiving devil you will find.
Hence why everything can seem to happen at once, and some things at the wrong time,
Life not just behaving randomly, but Satan having far too much spare time.

Yes, if Satan can create mischief around existing vexations, he will,
All why not everything happens for a reason, but due to devilish ill;
In other words, Satan’s mischief, or randomness he capitalizes on,
All why things won’t change until sin’s no longer operating and Satan gone.

Though God tries to bring good out of ill, He doesn’t cause any ill that’s about,
But is letting man’s fall take its course-cum-the devil’s ultimate plan play out.
And thus Satan making the most of what little time he has left, hence much ill,
And most humans aiding him given that they’re running contrary to God’s will.

As for things happening in threes, (more myth than fact), we’re our own worst enemies,
For we often add to our woes-cum-multiply our mishaps, which Satan sees.
And he oft convincing folk that things have come in threes, they having looked for three,
Despite having experienced a whole week of upsets, unsurprisingly.

Oh, how Satan loves to use smoke and mirrors, and the power of suggestion,
Which soon sees many people falling for his evil artistic expression;
In other words, that superstitious nonsense, it being pagan in origin,
And thus why it is that wherever Christians engage in such, they surely sin.

Our life’s a continual list of happenings, trials and mistakes, hurt and pain,
Via which God seeks to build character, and yet, how often we’re seen to complain.
All why we should look upon such trying things as more a challenge than a curse,
And not go looking for that man-made three, but rather, uplifting Bible verse.

Yes, what does it matter whether it be one, two, three or more, for trials will come,
Negativity only worsening things, and thus we under Satan’s thumb.
Oh, how he loves to create anxiety, have folk waiting for number three,
Such oft not forthcoming, unless one’s referring to that list we can’t foresee…

And it, dear friend, well in excess of three.

11.  That Lucifer Thing

Dear God above, how I pray that You’ll remove that self focus that shouldn’t be,
That desire for attention — in other words, that Lucifer thing within me,
Which, Lord, has one seeking recognition and applaud, or the stage, possibly,
Yes, that fallen rush that comes from being adored and sought, it most unheavenly.

All why one dresses to attract, circles the block in some souped-up Cadillac,
Or is it those vain photos seen on Facebook that a Christ-like humbleness lack?
You know, those sexy poses, or one standing next to somebody of note say,
Or is it someone that others wish they had instead, though all are made of clay.

Yes, that old Lucifer thing, Lord, pride and ego on steroids, lit up in lights,
Which harms one’s Christian walk and witnesses badly come those out on the town nights.
Yes, one decked out or painted up like a neon sign, those images one sees,
Be they in this mag or that mag, beckoning from windows, billboards and TVs.

Oh, how that Lucifer thing permeates everything, and why I call on Thee,
For I know how such ruined Lucifer, and what it’s also doing to me.
And yes, I like others am making excuses, excuses You won’t excuse,
For You, Lord, know very well that such behaviour is behaviour that we choose.

So please, Lord, free me from such a trap, one’s worth and joy only being found in Thee,
For this rush we get from being noticed or applauded only leaves one empty.
Hence why we keep looking for another fix, we addicted to self, sadly,
And spending so much time navel gazing when the answers only found in Thee.

Oh, how I hate that Lucifer thing, Lord, I just like a cat chasing its tail,
And why when it comes to doing and saying what You desire, Lord, I oft fail.
And yes, that devil looking at his growing scoreboard and laughing at You, Lord,
And all because of selfish old me, I effectively a liar, cheat and fraud.

Well, I do profess to be Your follower, don’t I, and so much ill bemoan,
And yet, I often acting just like the devil via constructing my own throne.
All of which brought about Lucifer’s downfall, he smugly basking in glory,
Glory that only You deserve, Lord, not him, and nor that selfish, fallen me.

12.  Agents Of Satan, Effectively

Any of us — within Christendom — can become an agent of Satan, either by choice or indirectly,
The latter meaning: We aiding Satan unwittingly via thinking that we’re right when we’re wrong, tragically,
And as a result, convincing others to accept or do something that is contrary to what God wants, and,
Thereby helping Satan in leading folk astray, which is Satan’s way — we, his supporters who such hadn’t planned.

Yes, agents of the devil, effectively — hence why we need to know God’s will-cum-Word like the back of our hand,
For here, naivety and ignorance aren’t always excusable — something that we all need to understand —
As God has made it very clear that we should have a deep, sound, intimate and working knowledge of His Word,
For His sake, our sake, and for the sake of others — we saying and doing what He wants, and never just what’s preferred.

When we err via rebellion, sloth, lack of care, or unwittingly, we run counter to the will of God, sadly,
Incurring His displeasure, or saddening Him, for He knows what can result from such, and what does, commonly,
And that has throughout history, for many have thought that they were doing God’s will when they weren’t, and terribly,
Yes, badly injuring others, even murdering them — such being what one could well call Christian insanity.

And they thus agents of Satan, effectively — for God abhors the mistreatment and killing of humanity,
Such being the territory of the Father of Lies — the Serpent — who makes error look like truth, cunningly.
And why we having been warned of this, shouldn’t be found wanting, but rather, treading with great care and surety,
For God may take issue with our naivety and ignorance, and we, possibly lose eternity.

By Lance Landall

13.  Satanic Preparation

There’s no question that humanity is being prepared for a huge deception, courtesy of our arch enemy,
And he, being aided and abetted by deluded, evil, earthly agencies — behind the scenes activity.
Yes, Satan knows his time is short, and in order to have things go his way, he’s influencing folk via the occult,
For strong exposure to such supernatural evil, will soon numb them to his deception, his End-time assault...

That being, his disguised takeover...

Helped by his signs and wonders, for folk will have been immersed in fantasy, confusing fiction with reality,
And thereby, many so sure that it’s God who’s behind such, when the truth is, it’s that same old lying enemy.
Yes, the one who ever since his fall has set about deceiving, and here he is today, using the same old tricks,
Which will soon culminate in a paganistic, (new age), spiritualistic, heretical religious mix…

Yes, some universal religion that will be enforced on all, eventually.

But meantime, he’s creating a huge interest in the supernatural — that is, the dark side of such a sphere,
For once he has folk hooked on such, (weeping statutes, ghosts, UFOs, wizards, and so on), they’ll be much easer to steer.
Hence why he’s saturating the world with the likes of Harry Potter, the Vampire Diaries, and the Lord of the Rings,
All of which contain creatures and things that are far from the heavenly, and which a darkness on humanity brings.

Once kids were more into reality, cowboys and Indians, pirates and knights, and other associations,
But now, it’s the likes of aliens, wizards, witches, trolls, spells, enacted supernatural manifestations.
Or to put it another way, the world of the occult — and such being, the territory of fallen angels, and,
Where the evil, aberrant, cruel, bizarre, foul, ghoulish, false, corrupt and mystical is cunningly designed and planned.

Such territory dulls and deadens the spiritual senses, and has Christians looking in the wrong direction,
And, also has them mistaking Satanic inventions for the heavenly — thus drawing some faulty connection.
And this is what Satan wants, for via such, things will swing his way, see Christians falling for his End-time deception, and,
Thereby ensuring that everything goes his way — in other words, exactly the way that he has cunningly planned.

And hence why, (thanks to Hollywood and television), we’re seeing the occult reaching deep into the family,
And also via certain books, all of which, one way or another, have made deep inroads into Christianity,
Along with New Age gurus in various forms, itchy ear pleasers, crowd teasers, false prophets, teachers and healers,
As well as certain leaders treating the Church more like a corporation — they thus being, Judas wheelers and dealers.

And this is why the Christian Church today is nothing like the apostolic one, but rather, more a mongrel mix,
Which those calls for a return to Church and State, universal Sunday resurgence, or some holy leader, won’t fix.
Only apostolic Christianity and doctrinal purity, and obedience to all of God’s Law
Will please our unchangeable God, who, this sad state of affairs that’s aiding Satan’s End-time worldwide power, foresaw.

“The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved”
(2 Thess 2:9,10, NIV).

“And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works” (2 Cor 11:14,15, NKJV).

"And he [the second "beast," alias the "image"] performed great and miraculous signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to earth in full view of men. Because of the signs he was given power to do on behalf of the first beast, he deceived the inhabitants of the earth..."

"Science has given way to the belief in the nonmaterial world. Materialism is dead. No longer clinging to the view that nothing exists except matter, science now admits the reality of a nonmaterial dimension governed by mysterious forces and inhabited by nonmaterial intelligences that it can neither identify nor explain. Every facet of occultism is now being explored as the new hope in medicine, education, psychology, business, military intelligence and space science.
The Mind Science cults such as Christian Science, Science of Mind, Religious Science, and Unity School of Christianity openly embrace the occult. Their brand of occultism has invaded charismatic and Pentecostal churches through the Positive Confession movement of Hagin, Copeland, Cho, Wimber, Hinn, and other false prophets and healers. The same “positive” occultism has invaded the evangelical church through Peale and Schuller and their followers. “Christian” psychology and related practices of inner healing or healing of memories and 12-Step programs have accelerated that invasion as well.
All of these streams are now coming together through the ecumenical movement. Its scope is unprecedented in human history. What we are seeing can only be the great apostasy which Paul said must come in order for the day of Christ to dawn and the Antichrist to be revealed. All that remains for the occult invasion to triumph is the establishment of a New World Order…"

14.  Satan's Bells And Whistles

It’s hardly surprising that miraculous healings are all the rage today within Christianity;
All part of the signs and wonders that we’ve been warned of — and oh, how so many have been fooled so easily.
While miraculous healings can and do occur, they’re certainly not happening like we’re being led to believe,
For God never promised such wholesale deliverance, hence all those false reports, for the devil loves to deceive.

Wherever there’s true revival and healing within Christianity, there’s oft a counterfeit as well,
For that’s how Satan works in order to mislead and divert from the real, and thus bring more under his spell.
And his counterfeits are usually showy, for he’s into signs and wonders, whatever amazes,
For he knows that such bedazzles and captivates the shallow and naive, and especially nowadays.

Yes, given the current preoccupation with the supernatural, many are ripe for the picking,
Hence why Satan’s surrounding dubious ministries with the dramatic and fantastic, thereby tricking.
Be such those bogus healings, weeping statues, ghostly apparitions, faces on stones, or signs in the sky,
All of which we have been warned of, for such are simply Satan’s theatrics which we’ve been told will intensify.

But you know…

The cross we’ve been called to bear, not only entails the ridicule of the world, and even persecution,
But the dealing with heartache and suffering-cum-testing trials — resting in Christ oft the only solution.
And by that I mean, that God seldom intervenes by removing our woes, but rather, gives strength to bear such,
For such develops character and proves our genuineness, given that most some easy way out would clutch.

Most want anything but heartache and suffering-cum-testing trials, but the God of justice says otherwise,
For many who call themselves Christian are simply fair-weather Christians, their heart not set on Christ but the prize.
Yes, happy to take grace, but wanting to be raptured from persecution, delivered from personal pain,
Relieved of that cross that crucifies self, and cries, “Your will, Lord, not mine, for I count such no loss but gain.”

Thus, I'd mind Satan’s bells and whistles-cum-smoke and mirror healings.

“Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name? and in Thy name cast out devils? and in Thy name done many wonderful works?’ And then will I profess unto them, ‘I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity’ ” (Matt 7:22,23, KJV).

Note also 2 Cor 11:14,15).

"And he [the second "beast," alias the "image," alias the End-time power] performed great and miraculous signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to earth in full view of men. Because of the signs he was given power to do on behalf of the first beast, he deceived the inhabitants of the earth..."

15.  Is Satan Coming Too?

Yes, I suspect that Satan’s coming too, in order to get the drop on Christ in his own distorted way,
So watch out! — lest he appear on Earth passing himself off as Christ, and thus leading many people astray.
"What nonsense," you may well think. Well, if I were the old devil, I’m pretty sure that I would give such a try,
For what would I have to lose given my end, and if I pulled such off, it would be me folk would glorify.

Sure such might only be temporary given Christ’s soon return, but I wouldn’t let such get in my way,
For in the meantime I would enjoy the limelight, and via such, gain far more control and lead far more astray.
I would even endorse via my presence, words and acts, some current power that would aid my skulduggery,
Such being, the clever takeover of planet Earth, and the cunning infiltration of Christianity.

"Satan’s already in control," you might say. Well, that’s true in a sense, but it is clear that he’s after more,
In other words, lock, stock and barrel — and yes, he does have most Christians by the nose, but he’s still wanting more.
In other words, the lot! — and what better way than by pretending to be Christ, for there’s one thing that we know:
He’s capable of transforming himself into an angel of light, putting on a signs and wonders show.

Hence why I suspect that Satan’s coming too — that is, prior to Christ’s appearance — so I’d bear such in mind,
Lest sometime in the near future he appear on Earth masquerading as Christ, and thereby, fooling mankind.
And fool he will, for how many Christians know their Bible well? — and as for non-Christians, they will be in awe,
For there’s nothing like signs and wonders to convince — which, sad to say, the shallow and uninformed will soon draw.

"And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light" (2 Cor 11:14, ESV).

“Jesus answered: ‘Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many’ ” (Matt 24:4,5, NIV).

16.  Satan Knows Your Mama

Yes, Satan knows your mama, and even your papa — got them good too — yes, quite a coup — the old serpent trick,
Goodbye Eden, hello misery — look out! — one hefty savagely thrown happiness and joy smashing brick.
And he’s had years to practice, has studied fallen human nature well, and thus even far better knows you,
And right to the end he’ll be holed up in human hearts and minds, a shootout imminent, for Jesus is due.

So look out those who’re holed up with him, for their fate will be the same, as wilful sin is just a loser’s game,
And thus victory assured for those who’re part of Christ’s End-time stakeout, those who Christ’s promises trust and claim.
And Satan will come out with his hands up, God’s Law-cum-spotlight having exposed his hidey hole-cum-darkness,
Where since the sad fall of your mama and papa, that same old serpent has spawned every kind of wickedness.

But meantime, Satan’s still alive and kicking, his evil bag full of apples, and each attached to more bricks,
So — lookout! — he’s got you well and truly figured, knows you back to front, and hassling is how he gets his kicks.
And since that time your mama and papa blew it, he has honed his skills, upped his ills, spiked more tailor-made pills,
Which you’d be a fool to swallow, as Heaven’s not worth losing for the sake of any temporary thrills.

But hey, there’s power in the blood — Christ’s — it gushing freely from Calvary, for there, Christ gained the victory,
So regardless of what your mama and papa did, you’ve a way out, Christ having conquered your archenemy.
And you can be victorious too, despite any apples designed to tempt, or scorpions dumped on your lap,
Christ supplying both the strength and antidote — weariness and pain but temporary — so mind any booby-trap.

Yes, Satan knows your mama and papa — found a way to make them fall-cum-disobey — oh, what a liar,
And he’s out to visit and con you too, so don’t leave any doors ajar, but remain close by your Messiah.
For despite Satan’s final push, his end is guaranteed, Christ closing in on him and those who aid his ill,
And when it’s all over, there’ll be another Eden, but one that will never again feel sin’s icy chill.

17.  Who's In Control?

Did the devil pull your strings today, have you moving this way or that-cum-dancing to his tune,
He creating some knee-jerk reaction, and you responding wildly or somewhat like a goon?
Perhaps he twisted your arm, pulled hard on your nose, or somehow was even seen to bend your ear,
Your feet and hands going wherever he tugged them, your eyes wherever he turned your head to stare.

Or could it be that you were his dummy, your jaw moving in sync with what he desired be said,
You responding to his clever manipulations, hence those body movements-cum-nodding head?
Yes, he making it look like child’s play, your compliance practiced, and thus it team work, seemingly,
And look at your appearance, it so in keeping too — but no, I’m imagining things, surely.

Well, perhaps he sent you an invitation then, one that you accepted, and this, willingly,
Yes, no arm twisting or nose pulling needed, you going along for the ride quite happily.
Perhaps your conscience being asleep, and hopefully not deadened, for snoozers can still be aroused,
Unlike those who sin has fossilized, they having engraved their own tombstone-cum-far more than drowsed.

Yes, I’d hate to think that you were one of Satan’s puppets, or one that he might use here and there,
He wriggling his little fingers and you obliging, hence why you’d duck down then reappear.
And nor would I like to think that you were one of his dummies, or once again, used here and there,
Nor the accepter of any devilish invitation, for Satan’s intentions aren’t sincere.

18.  How Many Years?

Dear friend, how many years of your life has Satan dominated, held more sway?
You so easily succumbing to temptation, thus Satan wining the day.
Oh, how he loves to get back at Christ via your permission, deliberate sin,
Which, you should’ve put behind you by now having exercised more discipline.

No, I’m not talking about works, but that victory in Christ that we can gain,
For who of us would discard the ways of Abel for the selfish ways of Cain?
Yes, who of us would want Satan to have the last laugh, claiming us as his own?
Christ not having made us robots, yet here, we acting like a devilish clone.

Yes, what a great shame if you and the devil have been going steady for years,
You effectively giving all your attention to him-cum-all eyes and ears.
Such would really hurt Christ, for aren’t you betrothed to Him, a professing Christian?
One whose life wouldn’t leave Him beaming with joy, but on Satan’s face, place a grin.

19.  As Sure As Eggs

Be very watchful ’cause Satan’s always looking for those opportunities,
Always trying to capitalise on any ill, those blunders that he sees.
That row with your spouse, perhaps, that “everything comes at once” scenario,
And especially when we’re struggling with health issues, those times of feeling low.

Yes, he loves to put the boot in, but dare we help Satan via our own folly,
Those moments when we let our guard down, those sad moments when we act thoughtlessly.
Oh, how we can’t afford to give him any opportunity, yet we do,
And hence why we suffer more so, ’cause as sure as eggs, he’ll appear on cue.

20.  Beware Of Angels

Whether one’s a Christian or not, it’s clear that two forces are operating,
One from which good is seen to spring, and the other from which evil’s seen to spring,
And why, according to the Christian Bible, there are both good and bad angels,
Who, either took God’s side or Satan’s side; and Satan being the cause of Earth’s ills.

And all why we should beware of angels, for which ones might be telling us what?
And why, if they speak contrary to the Bible, they should be easy to spot.
However, given that their skills and abilities clearly outweigh ours, and,
That they can appear in human form, there is much that we need to understand.

If angels can appear in human form, I’ve no doubts that evil angels would,
But as if good, though we can be certain that their agenda wouldn’t be good.
And what if they could impersonate any of us, acting criminally,
Or whatever, and this in order to sink us, paint us as some enemy.

At the end of the day, if people frame others, why wouldn’t the old devil,
And his deceiving cohorts? — who’re more than willing to sink to any level,
And why they turn to any trick in the book, and why we’ve been warned to keep watch,
For Satan’s already claimed millions, and dare it be that we’re another notch.

And don’t forget those ghostly apparitions, visitations of the deceased,
Which, in these occult ridden times, (thanks to the likes of Harry Potter), have increased.
Yes, Satan cashing in on the turning away from truth, disbelief in God,
And who, when it comes to his final deception, will give his cohorts the nod.

Demonic forces are very real and cruel, their target being us, and hence why
We need to be on our guard and their modus operandi identify.
Yes, their evil intent being to gain control, deceive, mar. spoil, wreck and destroy,
They cunningly using many a Trogon horse, and humans often employ.

So yes, beware of angels, those evil ones feeding mediums and physics,
And who’ve oft painted God-fearing, truth upholding folk as nuts and heretics.
And who relish this world’s obsession with the supernatural, fantasy,
For nothing suits their plans and trickery better-cum-makes their job easy.

“Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon [Satan]. And the dragon and his angels fought back, but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world — he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him” (Rev 12:7-9, ESV).

“And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light” (2 Cor 11:14, ESV).

"But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be acursed" (Gal 1:8, ESV).

"For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and willl turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into
myths" (2 Tim 4:3,4, ESV).

An Incompatible Mix

When I was 17 years old, I purchased an old 1948 English motorcar — a Morris Ten — one that unfortunately was approaching retirement. It was my pride and joy, something I fussed over, but a purchase my parents had inwardly groaned over. In time their groans were proven justified given the amount of money that I had to repeatedly spend on repairs, and in the end, pointlessly so.
Well, as I was driving my friends home from church one day, I soon found myself being ribbed about my sedate driving. However, I continued to maintain my current speed, and that same speed, after they had been dropped off. Two thirds of the way home, on a busy main road, my front left hand wheel, complete with its hub, mysteriously snapped off, departing from the car and continuing on its own merry way for a few metres off to the side. The car likewise continued for a few metres, with a severe dip to the left, coming to a grinding halt in the middle of my lane. What makes this story unique?
Hanging from the mirror, attached to my front window, was a troll, and sitting in my cars open glove box*, was a Bible. The irony was not lost on me as I embarrassingly surveyed the scene in my church attire. The eventual attendants to my predicament, including officialdom, may will have noticed the contrast also, so openly displayed and so tragically different. An utterly incompatible and forbidden mix! Over the years this contrast has become more indelibly impressed upon my mind. It is a contrast no Christian can afford to have in their life. Such is offensive to the living God, a God of light, not darkness, whom Christians claim as their Lord, Saviour, and example.
Yes, on one hand, the devil's work — a troll, (darkness, the underworld), on the other hand, my God's work — the Bible, (light, the heavenly).
Do you have an incompatible mix in your life? Perhaps you have a Bible hanging from your mirror, but a troll in your open glove box.*

*An open glove box is like an exposed tray or shelf.

I would recommend that you read my poem, The Realm Of Darkness, using the link supplied here:

21.  Mind

Mind that act or word, for haven’t you heard? — the devil’s waiting and not just baiting, for should you sin, he’ll be straight in — yes, capitalizing, such hardly surprising, you having aided him, and he being far from dim, not to mention eagle-eyed, and why many folk have cried, for such chosen folly — rebellion, actually — oft guarantees trouble, which Satan loves to double.
So, lest you suffer badly, simply follow Jesus gladly, refraining from wilful sin, the Spirit reigning within, and God’s Word in your holster, which your intentions will bolster, and repel the old devil, he unable to revel, you having won each round, not heading where he’s bound, for his end is certain come that End-time curtain, Christ having gained the victory, and you, staring at eternity.
Oh yes, the devil’s waiting and not just baiting, so mind you don’t slip, for he’s hoping you’ll trip, and he will be ready, you weakened and unsteady, but despite it all, on Christ you can call, for our Saviour’s ready too, His power enabling you, so long as you take His hand, choose the Rock and not the sand, and what a blessing it will be, when soon, His smiling face you see, for so proud of you He will be.
