Don't Fall For It
It wasn’t so long ago, a few hundred years, in fact,
That something momentous occurred that had a huge impact.
Yet, like the Holocaust, it’s little remembered today,
Which is tragic, for forgetting certain things doesn’t pay.
What am I referring to?
The Protestant Reformation that the likes of Luther led;
A challenge and protest that throughout many countries spread.
These protestors saw the heresy in the medieval church,
A religious/political power, (revealed when you search).
It hi-jacked the early Christian church that the apostles led,
Changing it into a “beast” that falsehood and misery spread.
Yes, millions were put to death, tortured, treated terribly,
And via military might attained politically.
That religious/political power is still with us today,
And doctrinally is still as corrupt, just as astray.
It’s still as political, historically the same,
And is still wrongly claiming authority in God’s name.
And yet, we’re looking at a Reformation reversal,
That’s right, church unity is having a dress rehearsal.
There’s a bending over backwards, rush to accommodate
That which our forefathers condemned, and would not tolerate.
Was it all for nothing? Were they wrong? The Apostles too?
Was it in fact the true church that the reformers overthrew?
Can we be forgiven via an earthy priest after all?
Is the Word of God faulty, in need of an overhaul?
No. It’s ecumenical nonsense, confusion, folly,
It’s compromise, a turning from truth for so-called unity.
It’s taking Christians back to the dark old days, where, sadly,
They’ll soon see another “beast” just repeating history.
Yes, I wouldn’t be fooled by all this coming together,
Which — prophetically — will again Church and State tether.
Hence that “image” of the first “beast” seen in Revelation,
(Chapter thirteen, that is, if you’re seeking confirmation).
Such God will crush — He can’t condone a truth and error mix,
Nor a pagan and Christian blend — one of Satan’s oldest tricks.
Such were the hallmarks of the first “beast” that enforced its will,
And are the hallmarks of the second that will also bring ill.
Yes, it all seems a great idea — this coming together,
Which eventually the Church to the State will tether.
But it’s not a good idea, and it’s not what God desires,
No, it’s simply the brainchild of the father of liars.
Power in the hands of kings, popes, or other, always goes astray,
That is, eventually — hence why this new “beast” will dismay.
You see, it’s just a copy, an image of the old one,
In other words, a Trojan horse — Satan’s — who hates God’s Son.
This new Church and State power will be aided by the old,
That is, the past power — that indirectly — regains its hold.
If things don’t work one way, the devil just tries another,
Hence the “image” — this time, a Protestant led Big Brother.
